FIAU Publishes Revised Guidance on goAML Rejection Rules, Indicator Updates, and XML Reporting Specifications

The Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) would like to inform all subject persons of the publication of three updated guidance documents aimed at enhancing the quality and consistency of reporting through the goAML platform. These updates are designed to improve data accuracy, streamline validation processes, and strengthen the analytical framework used by the FIAU.

1. goAML Rejection Rules

The updated guidance document provides a comprehensive overview of the Rejection Rules applied during the Web Report validation process. These rules serve as an additional automated filter prior to the acceptance stage, ensuring that reports submitted contain sufficient and relevant information. This measure is intended to assist the FIAU in promptly assessing and prioritising reports, thereby improving the overall efficiency of the reporting process.

2. Updated goAML Indicators

The revised indicators offer reporting entities an updated and detailed overview of the criteria used within the goAML system. These indicators are a critical component of the FIAU’s analytical framework, supporting the identification, categorisation, and assessment of suspicious activity. By aligning with these indicators, subject persons can ensure that their reporting is accurate, comprehensive, and consistent with regulatory expectations.

3. Standard XML Reporting Instructions and Specifications

Minor but important updates have been introduced to the XML schema used for goAML reporting. The most notable change is the modification of the ‘reason’ element, which will now be mandatory rather than optional. These changes have already been implemented on the test (TST) goAML Web Portal is currently available for all subject persons for testing. Changes will go live on 12th January 2026. The revised documentation, including detailed instructions and specifications, is available on our website. These updates aim to ensure that reporting entities remain fully compliant with technical requirements and avoid submission errors.
