FATF Publication on Detecting, Disrupting and Investigating Online Child Sexual Exploitation

14th March 2025

The Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) would like to bring to the attention of subject persons and other interested parties a recent publication of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on detecting, disrupting and investigating online child sexual exploitation.

This report provides an accurate understanding of the financial flows behind this crime while enhancing the private and public sectors’ ability to detect, disrupt and investigate online child sexual exploitation. Of particular relevance to subject persons are Section 2 and Annex A which focus on the detection and identification of financial transactions linked to online child sexual exploitation. Enhanced understanding will offer opportunities to link financial transactions to perpetrators and enable earlier detection and intervention in cases of online child sexual exploitation.

This publication can be accessed directly through the FATF’s website, or through the FIAU’s website by clicking on the following link.
