FIAU launched Consultation Exercise on Measures to comply with Regulation (EU) 2023/1113 and Regulation (EU) 2023/1114

31st July 2024

Regulation (EU) 2023/1113 is set to become applicable as of 30 December 2024.  In order for national legislation to be aligned and compliant with the said regulation, a series of amendments to the Prevention of Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Regulations (‘PMLFTR’) are necessary. The FIAU has drafted a series of proposals to this end. Amendments to the PMLFTR are also necessary to reflect changes resulting from Regulation (EU) 2023/1114, which is set to become applicable on the same date.

The consultation exercise that is being launched today is intended to obtain feedback from interested parties on the said draft amendments.  Feedback on these proposals may be sent to the FIAU on [email protected] by not later than 31 August 2024.  A copy of the consultation document, including the proposed amendments can be accessed by clicking the below button.
