The Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for its upcoming training event on Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Circumvention Risks, which will be held on the 8th of October 2026 from 09:00 to 15:45 at The Westin Dragonara Resort, Malta.
This full-day event will provide participants with key updates on Malta’s National Risk Assessment, AMLA’s Risk Factor Guidelines, and an update on MFSA’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) on Fraud initiative. Participants will also gain valuable insights into terrorist financing risks, emerging risk indicators, and collaborative PPP initiatives led by the FIAU.
The programme will feature a practical terrorist financing case study, offering attendees the opportunity to explore real-life risk scenarios and strengthen their understanding of evolving threats. In addition, the Sanctions Monitoring Board (SMB) will deliver a dedicated session on sanctions circumvention risk factors and provide an overview of its latest guidance updates.
This training session is designed to support subject persons and compliance professionals in enhancing their understanding of current AML/CFT risks, regulatory expectations, and effective risk mitigation measures.
Places are limited, and early registration is encouraged.
