Head – Strategy, Policy & Quality Assurance
Karl joined the FIAU as Head of Strategy, Policy and Quality Assurance in 2026. He is responsible for ensuring that the FIAU’s strategic objectives are translated into effective delivery, promoting consistency and quality across the organisation, coordinating key organisational initiatives, and strengthening the Unit’s framework for managing money laundering and terrorist financing risks in line with national and European priorities.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance from the London School of Economics and has over a decade of experience in financial services, having held senior leadership roles across banking, payments, investment services and digital assets. Throughout his career, he has led transformation programmes, managed multidisciplinary teams, and overseen the implementation of complex regulatory initiatives within highly regulated environments.
Karl’s experience spans operational leadership, governance, risk management, project delivery and the development of organisational frameworks that support effective decision-making and continuous improvement.
