Europol publishes the Serious and Organised Crime Threat Assessment (SOCTA) 2025

25th March 2025

The Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) would like to bring to the attention of subject persons and other interested parties a recent publication of Europol, namely the European Union Serious and Organised Crime Threat Assessment (SOCTA) 2025.

This report is published every four years and is based on contributions from EU Member States, third parties, and Europol’s expertise. It analyses and provides a comprehensive overview of the key threats posed by serious and organised crime in Europe.

This report also identifies the tactics of serious and organised crime, including key criminal activities such as migrant smuggling, online fraud schemes and the trade in illicit drugs. It also examines the dynamics of criminal networks and identifies emerging trends.

This publication can be accessed directly through Europol’s website, or through the FIAU’s website by clicking on the following link.
