The Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) is pleased to support and participate in the upcoming Financial Journalism Excellence Programme (FJEP), taking place on 27-28 August 2026 at the University of Malta. As a guest contributor, the FIAU will join journalists, regulators, academics and industry professionals in an initiative designed to strengthen financial reporting, analysis and investigative journalism skills.
The programme will provide participants with practical insights into financial statements, market developments, the EU regulatory landscape and the broader factors shaping today’s financial news. It also offers a valuable opportunity for collaboration between journalists, regulators and communications professionals.
Financial journalism plays a crucial role in helping the public understand complex issues, including financial crime, anti-money laundering, consumer protection and regulatory developments. Accurate and evidence-based reporting contributes to greater transparency, informed decision-making and confidence in Malta’s financial system.
Supporting initiatives such as the FJEP reflects the FIAU’s commitment to engagement, education and knowledge sharing. By contributing to programmes that enhance professional expertise, the FIAU continues to support efforts that promote informed public discourse and a deeper understanding of financial and regulatory matters.
