Notice – CBAR System – Updated Project Timeline

The FIAU would like to inform the subject persons who are obliged to report to CBAR, that the pilot testing period has been extended further from the 2nd September 2020 to the 16th of September 2020. It is important to remember that during the pilot testing, the FIAU is expecting anonymized data as previously instructed. 

On the 17th and 18th of September 2020, access to the system will be disabled until the clean-up procedure is completed. Further to this, the FIAU has extended the go live date for the CBAR system to the 22nd September 2020.

Pilot Testing – 03/08/2020 to 16/09/2020

Clean-up Procedure – 17/09/2020 to 18/09/2020

Tentative Go Live Date – 22/09/2020

The FIAU has published the updated CBAR technical documentation with some additional clarifications on its website. Please refer to this version during your XML submission.

Please note that this notice is applicable to the subject persons within the Credit and Financial Institutions that hold payment accounts and bank accounts identified by IBAN, and safe custody services within the Maltese territory.
