Notice – CBAR System – Updated Project Timeline

The FIAU would like to inform the subject persons who are obliged to report to CBAR, that the pilot testing period has been extended from the 21st August 2020 to the 2nd of September 2020.

On the 3rd and 4th of September 2020, access to the system will be disabled until the test data clean-up procedure is completed and also once the CBAR legal notice is officially published in the Government Gazette. The FIAU would like to remind the respective subject persons that the go live date for the CBAR system is the 10th of September 2020 and that they will be required by law to register and submit their XML data every 7 calendar days.

Further to this, it is important to understand that early access to the CBAR system for the submission of production data before the 10th of September 2020 will only be provided once the legal notice has been officially published. The FIAU will be updating the respective subject persons on this matter in the coming days.

Clean-up Procedure – 04/09/2020 to 05/09/2020

Go Live Date – 10/09/2020

Please note that this notice is applicable to the subject persons within the Credit and Financial Institutions that hold payment accounts and bank accounts identified by IBAN, and safe custody services within the Maltese territory.
